Onepark 2017. 3. 23. 21:30

On March 23, 2017 a distinguished speaker, Judge Kang Min-koo, visited Kyung Hee Law School to deliver a special lecture . He is now the President of the Supreme Court Library, and former Chief Judge of Busan District Court.

Judge Kang is famous for his series lectures on YouTube. His farewell speech “Advisable Attitude in the Current Information Age” (혁신의 길목에 선 우리의 자세, YouTube 동영상) at Busan hit one million views at present.

Judge Kang was invited by Dean Oh Jun-gen of Kyung Hee Law School.

He was also greeted by me and Prof. Noh Dong-il.

We found out we have been closely connected each other in various aspects.

For example, one of my friends, Park Si-ho, author of the "Happy Letters", was one of the popular speakers of the so-called "Smart Court" started by Judge Kang at the Changwon District Court. I explained to him about KoreanLII.or.kr site which is being provided by me for the purpose of enhancing foreigners' free access to "Korean Law via the Internet".

* KoreanLII는 '큰 강물'을 지향하지만 동역자 없이 필자 혼자 운영하고 있는 '개울물' 수준이다.

Judge Kang spoke to the students regarding:

- how to use smartphone apps as an efficient tool for studying

e.g., Evernote, Everything, YLink, Text2Speech, etc.

- how to exploit the functions of Google/Papago interpreters

- how to make and maintain Social Network friends

- how to explore a future path in the AI (artificial intelligence) Age

- how to survive as a pro bono lawyer

- how to improve your leadership in social life

- how to live a healthy life.

After two-hour long speech, Judge Kang was appreciated with great applause and various questions from the audience.

Judge Kang encouraged law students to give feedback on his lecture.
