On January 2, 2018, the New Year's Kick-off Ceremony was held at the lobby of the Peace Hall, Kyung Hee University (KHU) Seoul campus. K-pop youngsters at home and abroad knows well this concert hall for its state-of-the-art performance stage.

Inside the Peace Hall in the chilly morning, the lobby was beautifully lighted with chandeliers and beige-colored marble pillars and walls.

* The plaque of Peace Hall says "Love to Human Beings and Peace for Mankind.

President Inwon Choue greeted all the professors who had gathered at the lobby.

He delivered a New Year speech without a manuscript, stressing the followings:

In a tumultuous period with news filled with nuclear and air pollution issues, we, the KHU people, have to pay attention to in-depth knowledge development and facilitate communications. It must be future-oriented.

We will be dedicated to educate and foster creative and innovative human resources who are ready to tackle the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

While enhancing multidisciplinary approach and communications channel, KHU is going to establish the Institute for Educational Administration in 2018.

After the shake-hand greetings with President and leadership of the University, all the professors were surprised by an unexpected jazz performance at the lobby.

It's because it is a KHU tradition for a classical professor singer to sing a Korean and/or European lied. For example, "Oh My Love Magnolia" whose rylics were written by Dr. Young Seek Choue, KHU founder is the most favorite song on the occasion of the New Year ceremony on campus.

Professors and session men of the Post-Modern Music Department of KHU College of Art were cheering up colleagues at the lobby with standard jazz numbers of "New York, New York" and "I Feel Good".

The audience was mesmerized for a moment by the exciting jazz rhythm.

Surely, everything goes well this year.
